Afc - association francaise des directeurs de la photographie cinematographique

The AFC brings together most of the French cinematographers present at the highest artistic and technical level in French and foreign productions, as can be seen from many films awarded at international festivals. Active members are admitted by invitation from their peers. Technical industries and service providers actively support the association as associate members. They also provide support during trade fairs, equipment demonstrations and screenings. The AFC also benefits from significant support from the CNC for its day-to-day operations as well as for specific projects, such as : - Website, - Le Cinédico, Dictionary of translations of technical terms in the cinema and audiovisual industry, - The Micro Salon organized each year, - AFC Postproduction Days - Master Classes - The Lumières notebooks. This collaboration between users, suppliers and institutions allows the AFC to make its point of view heard, to defend the existence of a quality cinematographic image, to test new techniques and to assert its competence as creative collaborators with directors, in the best tradition of French cultural and artistic debate. AFC is a co-founder of Imago, the International Federation of Associations of Cinematographers.
