Ici et Là Productions is a French production company founded in 2013 by Christophe Bruncher. Here and there geographically as much as editorially, it develops, finances, produces and co-produces an eclectic line-up of original feature films for the international market, from experimental to larger audience driven films. Last released titles were PARIS PRESTIGE by Hamé & Ekoué (debut film from the hip hop band La Rumeur) and MR STEIN GOES ONLINE by Stéphane Robelin. CAT IN THE WALL, co-produced with Bulgaria and UK, premiered in the international competition of Locarno 2019 (FIPRESCI Award in Warsaw). The company is lastly diversifying in the development of drama series and animation feature. Since 2008, we've been curating EAVE’s Asia-EU co-production program TIES THAT BIND. In 2020, we've created a production services company in Paris, HIGHLIGHTS : a one stop shop for all Asian and international productions in Europe (www.highlightsparis.com). __ Christophe Bruncher started his career as a producer in 2005, working with actress-director Isild Le Besco as partner to Paris-based production company Sangsho, which he managed up until 2007. He thus took his first steps into feature film production with L’INTOUCHABLE by Benoit Jacquot (premiering at Venice Film Festival in 2006) and CHARLY, the second film by Isild Le Besco, released in France in 2007. Christophe is also one of the founding members of Les Films de la Butte, a production company where he developed and produced ET SI ON VIVAIT TOUS ENSEMBLE? by Stéphane Robelin. He managed to bring together an exceptional cast, most notably making Hollywood actress Jane Fonda to return to French cinema after 40 years of absence. The film made its premiere at the Locarno Film Festival (Piazza Grande). It was released in cinema over 30 countries, where it met both critical and public acclaim. It achieved over 530,000 admissions in France, over 400,000 in Germany, 100,000 in Brazil and over one million dollars in VOD revenue in the US, where it was one of the most watched French films in 2012.1 In 2013, Christophe founded Ici et Là Productions, to be fully independent. He produces the new film by Stéphane Robelin, MR. STEIN GOES ONLINE2 featuring again Pierre Richard in the main role (global box office success3). He coproduced also the first feature by French hip hop band La Rumeur, PARIS PRESTIGE featuring Reda Kateb et Slimane Dazi (released in 2017, awarded and critically acclaimed film). Christophe studied at the Conservatoire d’Art Dramatique in Marseilles and lived in China for 3 years before joining prestigious Paris film school la fémis, (international co-production programme Atelier Paris-Ludwigsburg). In 2004, he directed a series of short portraits of 6th generation Chinese directors for Arte’s TV cultural journal. The following year, he was the curator for the cinema section of Dashanzi International Art Festival in Peking. He invited French talents and established a strong relationship with them, which lead to professional collaborations, most notably with Isild Le Besco, Stéphane Robelin and Gustave Kerven. Since 2007, Christophe has given regular talks on production for various organisations, such as La fémis Film School, the Festival de Cannes Film Market and EAVE, where he established the Asian program TTB (Ties That Bind). He is the Head of Studies, responsible for the participants’ selection and content of the programme, which meets annually in Europe and Asia. Ties That Bind brings together a selection of European and Asian producers to develop their film projects with the support of consultants and experts (script-writing, legal, financial, marketing, etc.). It aims to develop co-productions and build bridges between professionals from these two regions. www.tiesthatbind.eu Christophe is also advisor for the Chinese-European association Bridging the Dragon. A French native speaker, Christophe is fluent in English, German, Mandarin and basic Portuguese.
